Summary:

The Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LADC) will provide substance use disorder services as part of the Mobile Crisis Team, responding to individuals experiencing behavioral health and substance use-related crises within the community. The LADC will conduct crisis assessments, comprehensive substance use assessments, and provide immediate support, education, and intervention to individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.

The LADC will respond to crisis calls in a variety of community settings including homes, hospitals, correctional facilities, community agencies, and other locations where individuals are experiencing behavioral health crises. The LADC will work collaboratively with the Mobile Crisis Team and community partners to assess immediate needs, provide stabilization and harm reduction education, and connect individuals to appropriate treatment, recovery supports, and community resources.

The LADC will maintain working relationships with community service providers and will provide consultation, education, and referrals to best support individuals and families experiencing substance use and co-occurring mental health concerns.

Duties:

· The LADC will serve as a member of the Mobile Crisis Team and respond to community-based crisis calls involving substance use and co-occurring behavioral health concerns. The LADC will conduct crisis assessments and comprehensive substance use assessments to determine immediate needs, level of risk, and appropriate intervention strategies.

· The LADC will provide brief intervention, stabilization, harm reduction education, and substance use counseling to individuals and families experiencing crisis related to substance use. This may include providing individual and family education regarding addiction, withdrawal, treatment options, and recovery resources.

· The LADC will respond to crisis situations in a variety of community settings including homes, hospitals, correctional facilities, community agencies, and other locations where individuals are experiencing behavioral health or substance-related crises.

· The LADC will collaborate with Mobile Crisis Team members and community partners, including hospitals, law enforcement when appropriate, social service agencies, and treatment providers, to coordinate care and ensure individuals are connected to appropriate services following crisis intervention.

· The LADC will complete required documentation, maintain confidential client records, provide referrals to appropriate treatment and recovery services, and participate in consultation with other professionals regarding client needs and service planning.

· The LADC will provide education and support to a diverse population of individuals, families, and groups, including high-risk populations such as pregnant women, youth, IV drug users, and individuals with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.

Minimum Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in a human service-related field and licensed with the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor.

· Has reliable transportation, proof of vehicle insurance, and valid driver's license.
