The Clinical Supervisor for Crisis Response and Walk-In Crisis Services work with program director and program supervisor to provide clinical leadership and direct care within Brightwater Health's crisis continuum. This role sits at the intersection of hands-on crisis work and supervisory responsibility, ensuring that crisis services are ethical, effective, and clinically sound.
The Clinical Supervisor serves as the primary daytime clinical consultant for Behavioral Health Practitioners responding to crisis calls in the community, while also providing crisis therapy, completing comprehensive evaluations, and providing clinical supervision for staff. The position balances immediacy, clinical judgment, and long-term systems thinking within a CCBHC model of care.
· Clinical Leadership & Consultation
o Provides real-time daytime clinical consultation to Behavioral Health Practitioners responding to crisis calls in the community, offering guidance on assessment, risk management, and intervention.
o Serves as a clinical decision-maker during complex or high-risk situations, including consultation around hospitalization, safety planning, and level-of-care determinations.
o Ensures crisis interventions align with evidence-based practices, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
· Direct Crisis Services
o Provides crisis therapy and brief, stabilization-focused interventions to individuals and families experiencing acute psychiatric distress.
o Completes crisis assessments for clients presenting in the walk-in crisis service, in the community, or in other settings as needed.
o Responds directly to crisis situations when clinically indicated or when additional supervisory support is required.
· Comprehensive Evaluations & Care Coordination
o Conducts comprehensive evaluations to support client access to ongoing services within Brightwater Health's CCBHC continuum.
o Determines appropriate referrals and transitions to other levels of care, community programs, etc.
o Coordinates care with internal teams and external providers to ensure continuity and follow-through after crisis encounters.
· Clinical Supervision & Staff Development
o Provides regularly scheduled individual clinical supervision to crisis team members and interns in accordance with licensure and best-practice standards.
o Reviews clinical cases, supports professional development, and fosters sound clinical judgment among supervisees.
o May be called upon to provide supervision or group consultation to other clinicians or clinical teams across the agency.
o Supports onboarding, training, and clinical growth of new staff within crisis services.
· Documentation & Quality Assurance
o Reviews, approves, and signs clinical documentation completed by supervised staff.
o Ensures documentation meets ethical, professional, payer, and regulatory standards.
o Monitors clinical quality and compliance within crisis services and addresses documentation or practice concerns as they arise.
· Collaboration & Program Support
o Works collaboratively with program leadership and interdisciplinary teams to support crisis service operations and development.
o Participates in clinical, supervisory, and administrative meetings.
o Maintains professional relationships with community partners while upholding confidentiality and clinical boundaries.
o Qualifications
· Licensed Mental Health Professional eligible to provide clinical supervision under state regulations (e.g., LICSW, LPCC, LMFT, LP).
· Experience providing crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization services with individuals and families.
· Prior experience supervising or mentoring clinical staff is preferred.
· Strong clinical judgment, ability to manage high-acuity situations, and comfort making time-sensitive decisions.
· Ability to balance direct client care with supervisory and consultative responsibilities.
