Duties:

  • Performs physical examinations/assessments and preventive health measures, within the collaborative
    agreement.
  • Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems
    and health care needs.
  • Records physical and mental health findings and formulates plan, diagnosis, and treatment,
    based on patient's condition.
  • Collaborate with the health care team as needed for comprehensive patient care planning.
  • Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment including psychotherapy,
    laboratory, or related therapeutic procedures.
  • Meet productivity standards.
  • Refers patients to physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
  • Provide community consultation, education, or other community activity to improve the quality of
    mental health services in the community.
  • Travel to outlying work sites as assigned.
  • Provide accessible, customer-friendly services. Make efforts to improve accessibility where there are
    barriers.
  • Serves as a leader and a role model for the professional development of peers, colleagues, and others including APN students.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in nursing with board certification from the ANCC as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
  • RN and APNP license in MN.
  • At least five years of experience as a psychiatric nurse.

Desired Qualifications:

  • RN and APNP Licensed in MN with previous work experience in a community mental health clinic or other psychiatric clinic setting as Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.
  • Also, knowledge of addictions and experience working with adults as well as children and adolescents; knowledge of community behavioral health systems and resources.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work in a variety of settings including the clinic and other community sites.
